xAPI & Storyline
xAPI is powerful. It can track learning events and create a record of them. The record is stored inside a Learning Record Store, or LRS for short. The record of the event is broad; you store who the person is, what action they did, and the object describes that action. While that is a lot and revolves around the action the learner took, there are times when you may want more context.
That is where xAPI extensions come into play. Extensions allow us to provide additional context that may not be directly related to the action but is still essential to know. When you save the xAPI extensions, you can create more detailed custom reporting inside your LRS reporting. In this video, I walk you through how to do the xAPI extensions within Articulate Storyline 360 and then how to create custom reports from the extensions within your own LRS.
